HOLE IN A SOCK

14 JUNE 2025 KRONENHALLE ZÜRICH

June 14, 2025, marked exactly eleven years since I got the idea to start my own brand. It was the 14th, June 2014, and I was in Paris with my mother and my then six-month-old baby, Johann.

I knew that this life could not be it for me; I had a calling – but more importantly, I acted on it.

To host a lunch at this symbolic date at the Swiss Room at Kronenhalle – an iconic landmark in Zürich - during Zürich Art Weekend and Art Basel – in support of one of my most favourite museums, @henieonstad, felt like a true celebration of art and the possibilities that can be created in life.

Coming from Eastern Europe and being a child of communism, I hold art and artistic expression very close to my heart, and I believe it is more important than ever these days.

To mark this occasion, we also launched our podcast, titled Hole in a Sock (listen on Spotify). Dialogue is central in my practice, and the podcast feels like a natural continuation of my narrative. In the first episode, in conversation with my dear collaborator of many years, the incredible writer Emma Aars @nicehangover. We talk about the history of Spustova and my relationship to jewellery – on and beyond the body

Thank you, Henie Onstad, for this initiative. Thank you, my dear Tuva @tuvatt, for a decade of rare friendship and support – it means the world to me. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate this very special moment with me at Kronenhalle.

Last but not least, thank you to my dearest team and family. To my son Johann, now eleven, who joined me for this trip – sharing this world with my kids is a privilege and my greatest accomplishment.
